Leatrice J. Pearl
Leatrice J. Pearl, 86, of Carbondale, and formerly of Rantoul, from 1968 to 1997, died Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at 1:28 a.m. at Hillview Health Care Center in Vienna.
She was born on April 19, 1927, in Boston, Mass., the daughter of Morris and Elizabeth Weiner Camiel.
She married Daniel Lewis Pearl on Sept. 7, 1948, in Boston, Mass. He preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1994.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Pearl Yoshii of Forest Hills, N.Y., and Linda Pearl (Stephen) Ober of Cobden; a granddaughter, Naomi Yoshii of Westminster, Colo,; brothers Sheldon Camiel of Boston, Mass., and Bernard Camiel of Randolph, Mass.
She was employeed for many years as the retail manager of the hospital base exchange store at the former Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul.
She liked many types of handcrafts, including sewing, doll making, quilting and pattern drafting, as well as knitting and crocheting.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Interment will be in the Danville National Cemetery alongside her husband, Daniel, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force for 33 years.

The family received friends at the home of Leatrice's daughter, Linda Ober, in Cobden.
Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna was in charge of arrangements.
