Laborers’ golf tournament scheduled

Laborers’ Local 773 is planning to sponsor the Edward M. Smith Scholarship Golf Tournament Friday, May 7.

The tournament, which will benefit the Connell F. Smith-Homer Brown Scholarship, will be played at Hickory Ridge Golf Club in Carbondale.

The tournament begins at 9 a.m. Registration starts at 8 a.m.

A welcoming reception and barbeque are planned Thursday, May 6, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Laborers’ Local 773 in Marion.

The scholarship is designed to help members of the Laborers and their families with financial assistance to further their education.
