A-JCHS slated to host golf invitational Saturday

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School Invitational golf tournament is scheduled Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Union County Country Club course in Anna.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The tournament will officially kick off the 2015 high school golf season. A shotgun start is scheduled for 8:30 a.m.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">A-JCHS golf coach Brandon Bierstedt said that between 15 and 17 teams have been invited to attend. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Teams had until yesterday, Wednesday, Aug. 19, to determine whether or not they would be attending. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Bierstedt said that he expected teams from the Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference’s Ohio and Mississippi divisions, as well as Black Diamond Conference, to compete.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">In October, the Anna course is scheduled to host the high school girls’ regional and the boys’ sectional golf tournaments.</span></p>
