A-JCHS homecoming celebration planned next week
The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School Student Council is busy working on Homecoming 2013, which is scheduled next week.
This year’s theme is “'lectrocute the Lions."
Daily themes for the week are Pajama Monday, Tie-Dye Tuesday, Tiki Party Wednesday, Thursday as Class Color Day and Friday as Blue and White Day.
On Monday, homecoming festivities kick off with a snake dance and bonfire which will take place after the sophomore football game.
On Friday, the homecoming parade is scheduled to step off from the Anna City Park at 1 p.m.
That evening the Prowl will begin at 5 p.m. in the high school parking lot. Various organizations will have booths selling a variety of items.
Kickoff for the homecoming football is scheduled for 7 p.m. next Friday as the Wildcats take on Carterville.
Coronation of the homecoming king and queen will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in the auditorium, followed by a dance in the Union Hall gym.
This year’s homecoming court is composed of returning king and queen Katie Whiteside and Eli Scherer; crown bearer and flower girl Savannah Smith and Will Falkenburry; freshmen representatives Lexa Sharp and Caleb Clover; sophomore representatives Jill Cotton and Adam Jung; junior representatives Bailey Stearns and Marcus Taylor; king candidates Noah Dillow, Jesus Godinez, Brock Goforth, Colton James, Josh Merriman and Tyler Vaughn; and queen candidates Kendall Carter, Mikayla Dammerman, Katie Edwards, Madison Housman, Allison Lence and Taylor Peterson.
The mistress of ceremonies is Janna Harner.

The parade will start at the west end of the park by the swimming pool, turn right on Freeman Street, left on Davie Street and then left on Main Street.
All participants should enter through the east entrance by Rusty's Home Center.
