James E. ‘Jim’ Treece

James E. “Jim” Treece, 82, of Cape Girardeau, died at 11:20 p.m. May 13, 2009, in Cape Girardeau at the Lutheran Home. 

He was born in Wolf Lake on Feb. 13, 1927, the son of Clyde and Bertha Treece. 

He married Ruby Morrison on Aug. 10, 1948, in Piggott, Ark. 

He worked for Country Companies  Insurance and he also farmed. 

He is survived by his wife, Ruby of Cape Girardeau; one son, Larry (Karen) Treece of Anna; one grandson, Joshua (Kellie) Treece of Marion;  one granddaughter, Melissa Kinder of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Claire and Caden Treece. 

He is also survived by four sisters, Mary Aaron of Belleville, Opal Glasco of Marion, Dorothy Treece of Ware and Doris (Joe) Rumfelt of Jonesboro. 

He was preceded in death by two sons, James Douglas and Gary Dean Treece; one sister, Martha Treece; and three brothers, Joe, Junior and Charles Treece. 

Funeral services for Mr. Treece were Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m. at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment was in Jonesboro Cemetery. 

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
