A-J volleyball team opens regional play with victory

The Anna-Jonesboro High School volleyball team defeated Massac County 25-16 and 25-23 in first round action of the Class 2A Vienna regional tournament Thursday, Oct. 29.
Lindsey Patterson had 7 serves, an ace, 8 serve receives and 6 digs for the Lady Wildcats.
Chandra Parr had 9 serves, an ace, 8 serve receives and 3 hits and 3 kills.
Adriel Cross had 7 serves, 14 sets and 10 assists. Rachel Hayden had 10 hits, 2 kills and 6 blocks.
Leslie Donna had 11 serve receives. Karley Heath had 15 sets and 2 assists.
Emma Basler had 8 hits and 6 kills. Kaylee Little had 2 blocks.
A-J improved to 18-12 overall and advanced to the regional championship.
