Du Quoin scored in the top of the 7th inning to break a 2-2 tie on its way to a 3-2 win over host Anna-Jonesboro in Southern Illinois River-to-River Conference Mississippi Division high school baseball action Friday, April 24.

Brady James was 1-for-2 to lead the Wildcats at the plate. Gabe Pecord was 1-for-3. Cody Livesay was 1-for-4. Luke Partridge added 2 RBIs.

Cody Wheaton and Brady Wright pitched in the loss, combining to scatter 4 hits.

Wheaton pitched 6 2/3 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with 6 strikeouts and 5 walks.

Wright pitched 1/3 inning and had a strikeout and no walks.

Carbondale 14, A-J 7: Visiting Carbondale pulled ahead 2-0 in the 1st inning on its way to the non-conference win Wed-nesday, April 22.

Jordan Adams was 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Wildcats. Livesay was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Partridge was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Shawn Stone was 1-for-2 with a double. Brady James was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Matt Smith was 1-for-3.

Wheaton and Adam Kelley were each 1-for-4 with an RBI apiece. Pecord was 1-for-4 with a double.

Stone pitched 4 innings and allowed 6 hits to go with a strikeout and 4 walks.

Frank pitched an inning and allowed 4 hits to go with a strikeout and 4 walks.

A-J 2, Zeigler-Royalton 0: Wheaton tossed a three-hitter to lead the host Wildcats to the non-conference win Wednesday, April 29.

Pecord led the hitting attack by going 2-for-3. Livesay, James, Smith and Jordan Chamness were each 1-for-2. Wheaton and Kelley had an RBI apiece.

A-J improved to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the league.
