A-J hosts golf match Saturday

Marion scored 324 to win the 2009 McDonald’s Team Challenge high school boy’s golf match played at the Union County Country Club course in Anna.

The event hosted by Anna-Jonesboro Community High School was played Saturday, Aug. 22.

The A-J Wildcats finished in ninth place with a score of 383.

Brock Buckner shot 89 to lead A-J. Chris Baggott was next with 96, followed by Brent Goforth 98 and Nick Bound 100.

(Wildcat junior Chris Baggott’s name was inadvertently omitted from the A-J golf team roster in a story which appeared last week’s sports section.)

Cobden finished with 462. R.J. Bridges led Cobden with a score of 105. Max Cohen was next with 105 and Clint Inman had 139.
