A-J girls’ track team members receive honors

Anna-Jonesboro Community High School student athletes have earned recognition on the 2009 Southern Illinois Coaches Association All-South girls’ track team.

Kaylee Little, Elizabeth Bell and the 3200-meter relay team were honored.

Little,  a senior, had the area’s second-best 100-meter hurdle time in 15.3 and the third-best 300-meter hurdle time of 49.3.

Little also recorded a 33-11 effort in the triple jump.

Bell, a junior, led all Class 1A runners in the 800-meter run with a 2:26.03 finish. She was the Carterville Class 1A sectional champion.

A-J’s 3200-meter relay team of Leslie Donna, Taylor Bound, Whitney Beanland and Bell  had a top finish of 10:20.76.
