A-J football team set to open season Aug. 28

<p class="p1">The 2015 Illinois high school football season officially began with practice on Monday, Aug. 10.</p><p class="p1">The Anna-Jonesboro Community High School Wildcats are getting ready to open their 2015 season on the road at West Frankfort, Aug. 28.</p><p class="p1">Instead of two-a-days, A-J has one practice daily in preparation for the season opener.</p><p class="p1"> On this year’s team, there are eight seniors, 17 juniors, 13 sophomores and 29 freshmen.</p><p class="p1">A meet the team night is scheduled at the high school football field at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.</p><p class="p1">The team will be introduced and afterwards parents and fans can take pictures with players and  cheerleaders.</p><p class="p1">Parking spaces for football games will be sold.</p><p class="p1">Orders also will be taken for t-shirts for a White Out home game which is scheduld against Massac County on Sept. 11.</p><p class="p1">All proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.</p>
