A-J’s Wright, Smith named all-conference

Anna-Jonesboro Wildcats’ Brady Wright and Travis Smith were each named to the Southern Illinois River-to-River Mississippi Division all-conference high school boys’ basketball team.

“It’s good to see both of them get on (all-conference team),” A-J coach Mike Chamness said. “They’ve each done a lot to turn our program around.”

Wright averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists a game. He plans to play baseball at Rend Lake Community College near Ina next season.

Smith averaged 12.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists a game. He is still undecided where he will compete next season at the collegiate level.
