A-J’s Partridge signs with SIUE

Anna-Jonesboro High School’s Luke Partridge has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball next season at Southern Illinois University  Edwardsville.

“I definitely think he can play there,” A-J coach Jake Alley said. “They just turned Division I last year.”

Partridge, a senior four-year starter, has a .353 batting average with 17 RBIs for the Wildcats.

Partridge plays shortstop and third base and also pitches for A-J.

Partridge, an all-around athlete who also has competed in basketball and football at A-J, played several years with a traveling summer baseball squad.
