Irene Morrison

Irene Morrison, 85, of Wetaug died at 12:31 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2009, at her home.

She was born on December 22, 1923, in Wetaug to Stante and Minnie (Ramage) Goines.  She married James Morrison on November 17, 1946.  They have enjoyed 62 years together.

She was a member of the Wetaug Church of Christ.   She was a homemaker. 

She is survived by her husband, James of Wetaug; a daughter, Brenda (Clift) Perry of Okinawa, Japan; three grandsons, Tull, Nicholas and Spencer Perry, all of Okinawa, Japan; a granddaughter, Emma Perry of Okinawa, Japan; a sister, Carrie Schultz of Wetaug; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends; and her dog, Sassy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Jimmy Cross, a brother, Wilburn Goines, two sisters, Aline Caldwell and Lois Calvin, a half brother, Raymond Nalley and a half sister, Ethel Goines.

Funeral  services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 29, 2009 at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with Ronnie Gulley officiating.  Interment will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.

Memorials may be made to Christian Chapel Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home.
