Holiday art exhibition set at Cobden gallery

anthill gallery & vintage curiosities in downtown Cobden plans to present its fifth annual Off the Wall holiday group artist exhibition through Dec. 22.

An artist appreciation reception for the exhibit is planned from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23.

anthill gallery’s holiday group artist exhibition represents original art and craft of 75 artists and artisans from Southern Illinois and across the United States.

A number of the artists reside in Union, Jackson, Johnson, Williamson and Franklin counties and have earned national distinction with their art and many are members of Illinois’ State Artisan Program.

The exhibition title, Off the Wall, means that patrons can take artwork “Off The Wall” at the time of its acquisition rather than waiting until the exhibition concludes.

The exhibition can be viewed Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Larger framed paintings and photographs in the exhibition are on display at The Yellow Moon Cafe’s Luna Gallery.

The exhibition is also one of the many featured events in Cobden’s annual Christmas in the Village celebration, which is planned Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m to 5 p.m.
