Hazel Karraker

Hazel Karraker, 90, of Dongola, died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Hillview Healthcare in Vienna.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1918, in Cypress, the daughter of Tom and Nancy Beggs Meisenheimer.

She married Vivian Karraker on Aug. 14, 1937. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1979.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Patty (Ken) Corzine of Dongola; one grandson, Mark Corzine of Dongola; one granddaughter, Vicki (Tom) Mead of Greenville, S.C.; two great-granddaughters, Tonya Rushing of St. Louis and Hannah Corzine of Anna; two great-grandsons, Matthew Mead of Greer, S.C., and Kade Corzine of Dongola; one great-great-granddaughter, Journee Rushing of Dongola; one sister, Shirley Whitaker of Dongola; and one sister-in-law, Marie Harvick of Paducah.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Sibyl Karraker; and one brother, Waldon Meisenheimer.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, June 26, at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in Christian Chapel Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Christian Chapel Cemetery or to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Crain Funeral Home in Dongola was in charge of arrangements.
