Gordon E. Conant
Gordon E. Conant, 55, of Villa Ridge, died at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Mr. Conant was born on July 28, 1954, in Cairo, the son of Roger and Birdie Douglas Conant.
He was a self-employed contractor, a 1972 graduate of Meridian High School in Mounds, an honorary member of the AF & AM Masonic Lodge No. 111 in Jonesboro, a member of the Kim Shrine Club in Cairo and the Masonic Lodge AF & AM in Cairo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Conant on Feb. 29, 2004.
Survivors include his wife, Janice (Watson) Conant of Villa Ridge; two daughters and a son-in-law, Kimberly Conant of Gray Court, S.C., and Rebecca and Neal Pullum of Essex, Mo.; his mother, Birdie Conant of Villa Ridge; a sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bill Davis of McClure; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, LeRoy and Marie Watson of Villa Ridge; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bruce and Robin Watson of Paducah; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, today, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge with Ralph Kaufman officiating.
Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
Masonic rites were conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Kim Shrine Club, or to the Cairo Masonic Lodge.
Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge is in charge of arrangements.
