George Alan "Al" Koehn
George Alan "Al" Koehn, 74, died on Oct. 13, 2013.
He was born on May 13, 1939, in Paducah, Ky., the son of Byron and Imogene Koehn (Anna, Ill.).
He held music education degrees from Murray State, Southern Illinois and Michigan State universities; taught high school and college choir for 11 years, and performed nationally for nine years as a singer/keyboardist before starting his private voice and professional music performance company in St. Petersburg, Fla.
He has been a nationally renowned vocal teacher/coach of top professional singers and entertainers for over 30 years and the author of numerous internationally acclaimed instructional books and courses.
He is survived by a brother, Byron Koehn of Clearwater, Fla.; sisters Sallie Cross of Richmond, Va. and Susan Reed of Anna; and nine nieces and nephews.
