Friends of Stinson elect officers at annual meeting

The Friends of Stinson Library had their annual meeting Monday, July 6.

The meeting was at Stinson Memorial Library in Anna.

Officers elected at the meeting were John Watkins, president; Sandy Davis, vice president; Carole Larsen, secretary; Jackie Beatty, treasurer; and Jan Hunter, assistant treasurer.

Other members of the Friends board are Michael Grubbe, Janet Mears, Marilyn Keller, Marilyn Belcher, Mary Ann Emmons and Becki Dielfield.

Stinson Memorial Library was established 95 years ago. The library was dedicated on Aug. 14, 1914.

Walter Burley Griffin, a colleague of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, designed the library, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

ColorFest: The Friends have announced plans for ColorFest activities, which are scheduled Saturday, Oct. 10, at the library. Hours will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Vendors who want to be a part of the ColorFest activities are asked to contact Carole Larsen at 833-4758 by Sept. 1.
