Francis E. “Sonny” Sims
<strong>Mr. Francis E. “Sonny” Sims, age 72 of Cobden, died at 9:42 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born August 9, 1940 in Jonesboro, the son of Samuel Lloyd and Alma Irene Smith Sims.</strong>
<strong> Sonny is survived by his wife Deloris of Cobden; four step sons, George Arbeiter of Cobden, Allen Arbeiter of Du Quoin, Gary Adams of San Francisco, CA, and Chris Adams of Anna; two step daughters, Angie Adams of New York, NY, and Cindy Dawson of MI; special grandsons, Austin and Daniel Adams; four sisters, Betty Swink of Dongola, Shelby Phelps of Vienna, Deloris Greenway of Metropolis, and Linda Michaels of Cobden; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.</strong>
<strong> Sonny attended the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Dongola. He was a member of the Anna Moose Lodge # 1346 and the Studebaker International. He worked as a butcher at various grocery stores in the area and later retired from Choate Mental Health and Development Center. Sonny proudly served his country in the United States Army.</strong>
<p align="center"><strong> Funeral services for Mr. Francis E. “Sonny” Sims will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Tim Heinecke officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery in Cobden. Military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Military Funeral Honors Team of Marion. Friends may call after 12:00 noon and until the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.</strong>
