Floyd Thomas Earnheart

Floyd Thomas Earnheart, 88, of Mounds, died at 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion.

Mr. Earnheart was born on Dec. 22, 1920, in Pulaski County, the son of George Earnheart and Minnie George Earnheart.

Mr. Earnheart was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mounds. He was a member of the local carpenters union and was a retired carpenter. He was a World War II Army veteran.

On Dec. 24, 1941, in Cape Girardeau, he married Elwanda Ford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Elwanda Earnheart of Mounds; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harold and Linda Earnheart of Bethalto and Gary Earnheart of Mounds; four grandchildren, David, Michael and Stephen Earnheart, and Diana Bowen; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge with the Rev. Buddy Walls officiating.

Full military honors were presented by Illinois Army National Guard honors detail and area veterans.

Interment followed in the Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell, Ky.

Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
