Five charged with meth production

Union County State’s Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds reported Thursday, March 29, that methamphetamine charges have been filed against five Anna residents.

Those facing charges were identified as Brett A. Crunk, 41, of 119 George St.

Charles J. Brimm, 24, of 201 George St.

Travis Farris, 24, of 161 Hillside Terrace.

Gary L. Taborn, 29, of 203 W. George St.

Tina M. Barlow, 25, of 203 W. George St.

Crunk is charged with one count of conspiracy to participate in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a Class X felony; one count of participation in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a Class 1 Felony; and one count of possession of methamphetamine manufacturing waste, a Class 2 felony. 

Crunk is alleged to have purchased pseudoephedrine pills on 40 separate occasions since March 2010 for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine. 

Crunk was charged following investigation of a house fire on March 11 at his Anna residence. 

Brimm is charged with  two counts of participation in the manufacture of methamphetamine, both Class 1 felonies.

 Farris and Taborn are each charged with one count of participation in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony. 

Brimm is alleged to have produced methamphetamine on separate occasions during March of this year with both Taborn and Farris. 

Barlow is charged with one count of conspiracy to participate in the manufacture of methamphetamine, a Class 1 felony. 

She is alleged to have purchased pseudoephedrine pills and lithium batteries on multiple occasions since July 2011 for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.

Each of the five defendants was being held at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro.

Charges which were filed follow an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office/Union County Drug Task Force with assistance from the Illinois State Fire Marshal and the Anna Police Department.
