<p class="p1">Evelyn Anita Eckstein, 72, of Wetaug, and formely of Anna, died at 2:59 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.</p><p class="p1">She was born on April 4, 1943, in Greenville, the daughter of Percy J. and Marie Hunsaker Hannum.</p><p class="p1">She married Donald Eugene Eckstein on Aug. 7, 1976. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2009.</p><p class="p1">She was a phone operator at Western Union and also was a professional secretary for many businesses in many cities. She was a proficient cook and at one time owned a restaurant in Ogden, Utah. She was a member of the Anna First Church of the Nazarene. She also loved going fishing with Cliff.</p><p class="p1">Survivors include a son, Raymond Joe (Heidi) Munoz of Memphis, Tennessee; significant other Clifford Self of Wetaug; three grandchildren; one great-grandson; a step-son, Louis Eckstein of Cincinnati, Ohio; three sisters, Lois Dillow of Anna, Rita Willeford of Washington, Illinois, and Percella Reese of Walnut Creek, California; two brothers, Harold Hannum of Houston, Texas and Lawrence Hannum of Indianapolis, Indiana; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Eugene Eckstein; two brothers, Willis Hannum and James Hannum; and one sister, Zelda Spoors.</p><p class="p1">As per her wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment will be at a later date in Concord Cemetery in Zavalla, Texas, next to her late husband, Donald Eckstein.</p><p class="p1">Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro is in charge of local arrangements.</p><p class="p1">To leave online condolences, visit www.crainsonline.com.</p>
