Ernie L. Middleton

Ernie L. Middleton, age 64 of Cobden, died at 5:50 am Saturday, August 8, 2009, at his home. He was born February 20, 1945, in Jonesboro, the son of Charles and Ruby Boinott Middleton. He married Angie Robinson September 12, 1969 in Alto Pass.

Ernie is survived by his wife Angie of Cobden; 1 son, Benjamin T. Middleton of Anna; 2 daughters, Amy (Neal) Nance of Cobden, Megan Middleton of Carbondale; 5 brothers, Albert (Roberta) Middleton of Jonesboro, Russell (Ann) Middleton of Anna, Donald Eugene (Carolyn) Middleton of Marion, Willard (Judy) Middleton of Cape Girardeau, MO, David (Bonnie) Middleton of Carterville; 1 sister, Grethel Marie Tucker of Carterville; 4 grandchildren, Travis and Trevor Middleton of Anna, Zane and Jansen Nance of Cobden; other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and 2 adult brothers, Charles and Bill Middleton.

      Ernie was retired from the Marion Federal Penitentiary as an OIC officer after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post # 259 in Cobden and he loved gardening and ginseng hunting.

    A memorial visitation for Ernie L. Middleton will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.  Funeral services and burial will be private.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Blood Bank Fund and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
