Elverado tops Cobden at regional

<p class="p1">Cobden couldn’t keep a first quarter lead in a 36-29 loss to Elverado in the  semifinals of the Class 1A high school girls’ basketball regional at Trico Tuesday, Feb. 10.</p><p class="p1">The Appleknockers led 9-8 after one quarter. The Lady Falcons came on for a 15-7 run in the  second quarter to take a 23-16 halftime advantage. </p><p class="p1">Cobden outscored Elverado 5-4 in the third quarter to trail 27-20 going into the last period.</p><p class="p1">Sandra Hartline had 10 points to lead Cobden. Alaina Hartline and Taylor Tomozzoli added 6 points apiece, Meridith Flamm 5 and Gregoria Rafael 2.</p>
