Dorothy Jean Butterfield, 89, of Orlando, Florida, formerly of Southern Illinois, died June 27, 2015 in Orlando, Florida. She was born Sept. 21, 1925 in Southern Illinois, the daughter of Levi and Flory Eddleman Ury. She married Earl Butterfield in 1943.
She is survived by her children, Linda Butterfield of Dongola, Larry Butterfield, Lesa Mason and Lance Butterfield all of Florida; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She attended the St. John's Lutheran Church in Dongola. Jean's life revolved around her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook, everyone enjoyed and took notice when her wonderful pies, cakes and other dishes appeared at church functions.
Graveside memorial services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 in the St. John's Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Scoville officiating. Inurnment was in the St. John's Cemetery in Dongola. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. John's Cemetery. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and at the cemetery.
