Donald W. Hubbs

Donald W. Hubbs, 71, of Murphysboro, died at 2:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born on March 7, 1938, in Murphysboro, the son of Ralph and Cecil Wall Hubbs.

He was a graduate of Murphysboro Township High School. He was employed by the Township of Murphysboro as Workfare supervisor for several years.

Survivors include cousins Bill (Virginia) Goddard of Arlington Heights, Peggy (Newell) Esmond of Findlay, Jack (Judy) Goddard of Trotwood, Ohio, Ron (Gerrie) Hubbs of Mooresville, N.C., Nancy (Leon) Gunn of Anna, Mary Ann (Steve) Westbrooks of Anna, Jim (Eleanor) Clardy of Anna, Vernon (Dortha) Clardy of West Frankfort, Elbert (Shirley) Clardy of Anna, Sheilah (Jim) Whittington of Anna, and Dewayne (Jean) Lazenby of Wisconsin; work associates Bob Fenwick and Pat Weber of Murphysboro; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Cecil Hubbs, and by his stepmother, Irene Doerr Hubbs.

Funeral services for Mr. Hubbs were at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, at Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home with Tony Goins officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.
