David Thomas Masden

David Thomas Masden, 40, of Cobden, died at 8:24 pm, Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.  He was born on June 2, 1974 in Lafayette, Indiana, the son of Joseph Thomas and Brenda Sue (Fosskuhl) Masden.

He is survived by his parents, Tom and Brenda Masden of Cobden; one sister, Irma Jean (Nathan) Bailey of Natural Bridge, Virginia; two nephews, Jakob Bailey and Brendan Bailey; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

He was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and loved life and he lived life to the fullest.  David had worked at Wal-Mart, Schnucks and also mowed the Cobden cemetery.  He was beloved by his two nephews and was an Eagle Scout and loved electronics.

Funeral mass was Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating.  Interment was in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Cobden.

The Rosary was at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan House of Carbondale.  Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
