Cora Eleanor Cross

Cora Eleanor Cross, 86, of Anna, died at 10:48PM Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at Anna Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

Cora was born Feb. 27, 1928 in Union County, IL, daughter of Marcellis and Shelottie Caroline Adams Jackson. She married Bennie Cross on March 30, 1946, he preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 1989. Cora married James Nelson on July 23, 2001.

She was a member of Landmark Pentecostal Church. In 1989 Cora retired after 26 years of service at Choate Mental Health Center as a housekeeping supervisor.

Survivors include her 3 sons, Larry (Sallie) Cross of Richmond, VA, Rodney (Debbie) Cross of Jonesboro, and Jim (Dianne) Cross of Anna; 6 grandchildren, Doug (Michelle) Cross and Greg (Janna) Cross all of Harrison, AR, Ali Cross of Richmond, VA, Micah (Angie) Cross and Brad (Brittany) Cross all of Jonesboro, Justin (Jenifer) Cross of Smyrna, TN; 4 great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Jacob, Sadie and Brooklyn; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bennie Cross, 12 siblings including, Lennie Hinkle, Flora Jeralds, Jewell Jackson, Paul Jackson, Clara Graham and Mary Parker.

Visitation for Cora Eleanor Cross will be from 5PM to 9PM on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Crain Funeral Home Anna–Jonesboro.

Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Crain Funeral Home Anna-Jonesboro with Phil Eggelston officiating. Interment to follow at Casper Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Landmark Pentecostal Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
