Cobden wins twice in junior high baseball

Cobden won twice in recent junior high school baseball action.

Following are game summaries:

Cobden 12, Shawnee 2: Austin Flamm was 3-for-4 with a triple to lead Cobden to a 12-2 win in first-round action of the Southern Illini Conference tournament at Anna Thursday, Sept. 10.

Doug Back and Cayden Childers were each 1-for-1. Keegan Tripp and J.T. Moore were each 1-for-3. Tyler Lewey was 1-for-4.

Keegan Tripp and Zach Moore pitched in the win, combining on a five-hitter to go with 9 strikeouts.

Cobden 6, Goreville 5: After losing to Jonesboro in the semifinals of the conference tourney, Cobden bounced back to claim third place in the win over Goreville.

Keegan Tripp was 1-for-1 to lead Cobden. Zach Moore was 1-for-4.

Keegan Tripp and Zach Moore pitched in the win, combining on 9 hits to go with 7 strikeouts.
