Cobden wins regional

<p class="p1">Logan Spalt  fired a two-hitter to lead the Cobden High School baseball team to a 7-2 win over Norris City-Omaha-Enfield for the Class 1A Elverado regional tournament championship Saturday, May 23.</p><p class="p1">Spalt, 11-1, had a walk and 13 strikeouts.</p><p class="p1">Cayden Childers was 2-for-2 to lead the Appleknockers at the plate. J.T. Moore was 1-for-3 with a double and 2 RBIs. Spalt was 1-for-3 with a double.</p><p class="p1">Cobden advanced to the championship with an 18-0 win over Galatia Thursday, May 21.</p><p class="p1">Cobden, 22-6, was scheduled to play Shawnee earlier this week in the Bluford Class 1A sectional.</p>
