Cobden wins baseball title

<p class="p1">The host Cobden Junior High baseball team won a regional championship Saturday, Sept. 26, in Cobden.</p><p class="p1">Cobden defeated Jonesboro 8-3 for the regional title.</p><p class="p1">With the victory, Cobden advanced to the state finals.</p><p class="p1">Cobden's first game in the finals is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, at 9:30 a.m. against Dupo in Pinckneyville.</p><p class="p1">If Cobden wins Saturday, it is guaranteed two more games on the following Tuesday and Thursday.</p>
