Cobden volleyball team posted successful season
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden High School volleyball recently wrapped up a successful season. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Here’s a look at the squad season-ending action:</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden faced host Goreville on Oct. 15. Cobden won in two sets, 26-16, 25-19.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Taylor Tomazzoli had seven kills. Carley Washer had five kills. Alaina Hartline had four kills.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden lost to Massac at home on Oct. 22 in three sets, 25-10, 23-25, 20-25.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tomazzoli had nine kills. Washer had nine kills. Sara Millis had eight kills.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden played in the Fairfield Tournament on Oct. 25.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden lost to Fairfield in two sets, 22-25, 19-25. Millis had four kills. Washer had four kills. Aubrey Glasco had 11 assists.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden defeated Martinsville in two sets, 25-19, 25-19.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Millis had four kills. Tomazzoli had four kills. Glasco had 10 assists.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden defeated Mt. Vernon in two sets, 25-13, 25-17. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tomazzoli had six kills. Washer had four kills. Meredith Flamm had four kills.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden lost to Carterville in two sets, 26-28, 16-25.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Millis had seven kills. Tomazzoli had four kills. Glasco had 14 assists.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden defeated Olney in three sets, 25-21, 20-25, 15-12.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tomazzoli had seven kills. Flamm had five kills. Glasco had 16 assists.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Lady Appleknockers then played their regional games.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Their first regional game was at home against Shawnee on Oct. 27. Cobden won in two sets, 25-6, 25-14.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Flamm had four kills, Tomazzoli had nine kills and Glasco had 24 assists.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden defeated Gallatin County for the regional championship title. The Lady Appleknockers have been regional champions for four years in a row.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">They defeated Gallatin County on Oct. 29, in two sets, 25-11, 25-13.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Millis had seven kills, Tomazzoli had six kills and Hartline had five kills.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden lost to Christopher at sectionals at NCOE in two sets, 27-29 and 23-25. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Tomazzoli had 10 kills. Washer had five kills. Glasco had 21 assists.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Graduating seniors this year are Aubrey Glasco, Carley Washer, Sara Millis and Taylor Tomazzoli.</span></p>
