Cobden softball team falls to Marion and Trico

<p class="p1">The Cobden High School softball team lost a pair of games in recent action.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Marion 10, Cobden 0:</strong> The host Appleknockers were held to one hit in the loss Wednesday, April 29.</p><p class="p1">Alaina Hartline was 1-for-2 for Cobden’s lone hit.</p><p class="p1">Carley Washer and Molly Ellis pitched in the loss. Washer pitched 1 1/3rd innings and allowed 3 hits to go with 5 walks and a strikeout. Ellis pitched 4 2/3rd innings and allowed 3  hits to go with 3  walks and a strikeout.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Trico 8, Cobden 1:</strong> Ellis was 1-for-2 with a solo home run to lead visiting Cobden in the loss Monday, April 27.</p><p class="p1">Josi Braden was 1-for-2 and Meredith Flamm was 1-for-3.</p><p class="p1">Washer and Ellis pitched in the loss. Washer pitched 5 innings and allowed 4 hits to go with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Ellis pitched an inning and allowed a hit to go with 2 walks and no strikeouts.</p><p class="p1">Cobden, 7-9, is scheduled to play Thursday, today, at Crab Orchard.</p>
