Cobden baseball 15-2 after three recent wins

<p class="p1">The Cobden High School baseball team won three games in recent action.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Cobden 3, Zeigler-Royalton 0:</strong> J.T. Moore was 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the visiting Appleknockers in the non-conference win Friday, April 24.</p><p class="p1">Parker Flamm was  1-for-3 with an RBI. Logan Spalt added an RBI.</p><p class="p1">Spalt, 8-0, was the winning pitcher with a three-hitter.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Cobden 22, Egyptian 1:</strong> Theron Sweitzer was 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs to lead visiting Cobden in the South Egyptian Conference win Thursday, April 23.</p><p class="p1">John Russell was 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs. Dylan Duty was 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs. Spalt added 3 RBIs. Russell was the winning pitcher with a two-hitter.</p><p class="p1"><strong>Cobden 10, Vienna 9:</strong> Jacob Furlow and Russell were each 3-for-4 to lead host Cobden to the conference win Wednesday, April 22.</p><p class="p1">Cayden Childers was 2-for-3. Spalt was 3-for-5. Sweitzer was 2-for- 5.</p><p class="p1">Spalt was the winning pitcher.</p><p class="p1">Cobden, 15-2, is scheduled to play Saturday, May 2, in its own invitational. </p><p class="p1">Cobden opens play at 11 a.m. against Benton, followed by New Athens and Benton at 1:15 p.m. and the Appleknockers going against New Athens at 3 p.m.</p>
