<p class="p1">Charlesetta Braden, 86, of Cobden, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Aug. 30, 1919, in Carterville, the daughter of Will and Ellen Gallinger Manning.</p><p class="p1">She married Clifford E. "Bud" Braden Feb. 15, 1946.</p><p class="p1">She worked at the Good Luck Glove Factory in Carbondale, also playing on their softball team and was a great pitcher in her day. After Charles started school, she then worked as a secretary for the superintendent of the Cobden School District for many years. She was raised in Carterville and her church home was Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin.</p><p class="p1">She is survived by her husband, Clifford E. "Bud" Braden of Cobden; a son, Charles (Debbie) Braden of Cobden; a grandson, Charles Jr. (Maria) Braden of Cobden; great-grandchildren, Josie and Harleigh Braden of Cobden; nieces, nephews and other relatives.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Rose, Margaret and Mary; and one brother, Bill.</p><p class="p1">Funeral Mass for Charlesetta Braden was at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 16, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin, with Msgr. Ken Schaefer officiating.
