Charles Raymond Anderson

Charles Raymond Anderson, 72, of Cairo, and formerly of Mounds, died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at Heartland Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Aug. 3, 1937, in Madison, Wis., the son of Julius Raymond Anderson and Lizzette R. Riggert Anderson.

Mr. Anderson was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge. He was a retired manager of real estate and apartment buildings.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a son, Richard Norman Anderson.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond Anderson of Clarksville, Tenn., Roger Eric Anderson of Florida, Charles R. Anderson Jr. of California and Kenneth Anderson of Beaver Dam, Wis.; two daughters, Kari Massey of Dublin, Ohio, and Lizzette Anderson of California; two sisters, Georgia Stansbury and Gean Englewood of Denver, Colo.; a dear friend, Kathy Lee of Mounds; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At Mr. Anderson’s request, his body has been donated to the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Carbondale.

Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Villa Ridge with the Rev. Larry Miller officiating.

Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge was in charge of arrangements.
