Charles Ray Verble

Charles Ray Verble, 76, of Jonesboro, died at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at his home in Jonesboro.

He was born on Sept. 11, 1935, in Anna, the son of Ray and Grace Simmons Verble.

He is survived by one brother-in-law, H.R. Clutts of Cobden; one nephew Rodney (Kelli) Clutts of Anna; and two nieces, Sheleigh (Bill) Belongy of Clewiston, Fla., and Lauren (Wayne) Banks of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Kathleen Stegle and Geraldine Clutts; and one brother-in-law, Edward Stegle.

He was a lifelong resident of Union County. He retired from Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna after 35 years of service.

Funeral services for Mr. Verble were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Anna City Cemetery with the Rev. Clifford Heil officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery.
