Betty J. Rogers

<p class="p1">Betty J. Rogers, 88, of Murphysboro, and formerly of Cairo, died at 8:10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2015, at Saline Care Center in Harrisburg.</p><p class="p1">She was born on March 26, 1927, in St. Louis, the daughter of Raymond and Hattie Ragsdale Powers.</p><p class="p1">She worked as a private duty nurse. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Church in Cairo and the VFW Auxiliary.</p><p class="p1">Survivors include her daughters, Valerie Zdankiewiez of Marion and Becky Scherer of Oswego; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a special cousin, Pat Roushdi of Nashville, Tennessee.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her parents.</p><p class="p1">A private inurnment will be held at Calvary Cemetery.</p><p class="p1">Crain Funeral Home-Cairo is in charge of arrangements.</p><p class="p1">To leave online condolences, visit www.crainsonline.com.</p>
