Bertha Mae Greer Mann

Bertha Mae Greer Mann, 81, of Grand Chain, died at 7:06 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 2010, at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford.

Mrs. Mann was born on March 1, 1929, in Rocky Mount, Va., the daughter of John Henry Motley and Daisy Mae Campbell Motley.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Grand Chain, and was a retired factory employee.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl Monroe Greer, on Aug. 21, 1979.

Survivors include three brothers, Calvin, Wayne and Gerald Motley, all of Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge with the Rev. Gerald Cain officiating.

Interment was in the Mound City National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, March 29.
