Barbara Martin

<p class="p1">Barbara Martin, 76, of Herrin, died at 5:44 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at Herrin Hospital.</p><p class="p1">She was born on Jan. 8, 1938, the daughter of Harold and Muriel Sailor Golliher in Murphysboro.</p><p class="p1">She married James E. Martin on Dec. 25, 1970.</p><p class="p1">She was a research and development operator at Olin Manufacturing for many years.</p><p class="p1">She is survived by her husband, Jim Ed Martin of Herrin; children Brenda (Jeff) Abell of Yucca Valley, California, Billy (Martha) Brown of Rantoul, Bonnie Hart of Herrin and Brian (Judy) Martin of Herrin; grandchildren Ryan and Lisa Abell, Brandon and Dana Abell, Joseph and Shelly Abell, Neal and Sarah Brown, Chris and Crystal Haught, John and Amanda Haught, Ashten Martin, Taylor Martin, Jeremy Martin and Sean Brown; great-grandchildren Dylan Abell, Alyssa Abell, Bradlee Abell, Brodee Abell, Micaiah Hammett, Zachariah Hammett, Hudson Abell, Maddison Brown, Colton Haught, Ciaya Haught, Sophia Haught and Owen Haught.</p><p class="p1">She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandmother, Alice Painter, who helped raise her; a son, Bobby Allen Brown; and a son-in-law, Robert Hart.</p><p class="p1">Funeral services were Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home Egyptian Chapel in Energy, with the Rev. Brad Harlow officiating.
