Barbara Ferguson Wareing

Barbara Ferguson Wareing, 80, of Anna, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on July 18, 1929, in Anna, the daughter of Lester J. and Anna Mae Abser Ferguson.

She married Harry W. Wareing on Aug. 30, 1997, in Anna. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2008.

Mrs. Wareing is survived by one brother, Donald (Shirley) Ray of Anna; one sister, Susie (Ted) Goins of Jonesboro; two stepchildren, Rebecca (Clarence) Pind of Jonesboro and Robin (Walter) Jackson of Dongola; six step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; two sisters, Nancy Ray and Marjorie Eddleman; and two brothers Bobby and Jerry Ray.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Anna and the Red Hat Society for many years. She was retired from Choate Mental Health Center in Anna as a licensed practical nurse. She liked baking and working in her garden.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with the Rev. Tony Foeller officiating. Interment was in the Jonesboro Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or to PAWS.
