Archie Lee McMahan

Archie Lee McMahan, 80, of Anna, died at 12:52 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 in Anna. He was born Aug. 18, 1934 in Wolf Lake, the son of Merritt Estin and Beulah E. Bittle McMahan. He married Roberta Thorne on June 21, 1955 in Sunnyland, Illinois. and were happily married for 57 years. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2013.
He is survived by his two sons, Stephen McMahan and John Douglas (DeNeille) McMahan all of Anna; three grandchildren, Merritt McMahan, J.D. (Crystal) McMahan, Whitney Bickings; one great grandchild, Kayleigh Elizabeth McMahan; two sisters, Patricia (Donald) Schlenker of Jonesboro, Vickie (Gary) Sadler of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one brother, Joe McMahan of Anna; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Roberta McMahan; infant brother, Merritt Junior McMahan; sister and brother in law, Mildred and Charles Gardner.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Anna. He farmed and was an over the road truck driver for Bunny Bread. He was a member of the Anna Masonic Lodge No. 520 and the Anna Kiwanis Club. Archie loved mowing and gardening. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Dee Armes officiating. Interment was in the Anna City Cemetery. Masonic rites were conducted at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
