Appleknockers defeated twice
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden lost twice in recent high school boys’ basketball action.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Carrier Mills 43, Cobden 39:</strong> The Appleknockers let a lead slip away late in the loss to host Carrier Mills in a non-conference game Friday, Jan. 23.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden led 12-11 after one quarter and 25-21 at the half. </span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">The Appleknockers led 31-30 going into the final quarter before the Wildcats made a 13-8 run to post the come-from-behind win. Parker Flamm had 22 points to lead the Appleknockers. Clayton Eck added 6 points, J.T. Moore and Alex Inman 4 each and Sam Cohen 3.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1"><strong>Agape Christian 80, Cobden 58:</strong> The Appleknockers couldn’t hold a first quarter lead in the loss to host Agape Christian of Marion Tuesday, Jan. 20.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Cobden led 23-17 at the end of one quarter before trailing 37-35 at the half. The Appleknockers were behind 58-49 going into the last quarter.</span></p><p class="p1"><span class="s1">Flamm had 29 points to lead Cobden. Austin Lewey added 8 points, Logan Spalt, Moore and Cohen 6 each and Cayden Childers 3. Cobden plays again Saturday at home against Elverado.</span></p>
