Anna's famed pink cookies return! Davis Pastry re-opens Friday in new location

They're back! The famed pink cookies from Davis Pastry in Anna, along with donuts, rolls, cookies and cakes, are available once again.

Davis Pastry, closed since early this year when an ice storm crushed part of the building it had occupied on South Main Street for more than a half century, reopened Friday, May 22, in a new location a half-block north of the previous store.

The public response was as expected. People who had gathered at the pastry shop in the past for early morning coffee and treats were there once again. The flow out the front door of long-missed products was constant.

By early Saturday morning a big stockpile of the pink cookies, baked by creator Jim Davis in anticipation of the demand, was gone.

But they'll be back, this time for sure. With the Memorial Day holiday, a new supply of the indescribable treats is scheduled for sale Tuesday, May 26.
