Anna set to receive new fire truck
<p class="p1">As a new year begins, the Anna Fire Department is looking forward to the arrival of a significant new piece of equipment.</p><p class="p2">The Anna City Council in December approved the purchase of a new fire truck. The custom-built vehicle is slated to arrive in Anna during the summer.</p><p class="p2">The city council approved a bid of $819,200 for the new fire truck. The bid was submitted by Pierce Manufacturing of Appleton, Wisconsin.</p><p class="p2">The city received an $840,150 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, FEMA, to fund the purchase of the new fire truck.</p><p class="p2">Remaining funds left after the purchase of the vehicle will be used to acquire additional safety equipment.</p><p class="p2">Fire department and city officials worked for several months on the process leading up to the recent awarding of the FEMA grant and the bid. </p><p class="p2">City administrator Steve Guined said that "a tremendous amount of work" went into the process.</p><p class="p4"> </p>
