Anna man faces charges

An Anna man has been charged in connection with an alleged incident involving his girlfriend which happened Sunday night.

Anna Police Chief Dale Foster reported that the incident happened at 10:15 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Dewey Street.

The suspect allegedly struck his girlfriend, a 39-year-old Anna woman, in the face and pushed her head into a parked car.

The woman went to Union County Hospital in Anna for treatment of her injuries.

Foster identified the suspect as Alvin L. Dickerson, 40, of Anna. Dickerson was charged with aggravated domestic battery.

Dickerson was in custody at the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro.
