​Glenna M. Griffith

<em>Glenna M. Griffith, 89, of Peoria, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at 7:40 p.m. at home surrounded by her immediate family.</em>

<em>She was born on Sept. 10, 1923, near Buncombe, on the family farm, the daughter of Clifton and Jennie Caraker Merriman.</em>

<em>She married Glenn E. Griffith on Jan. 25, 1946, in Anna. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1987.</em>

<em>She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Gordon E.; an infant granddaughter, Amber Marie Ballard; and one brother, Fred.</em>

<em>She is survived by one sister, Mabel Carter; two sons, and a daughter, all of Peoria, Calvin (Tina) Griffith, Jack (Sue) Griffith and Brenda (Richard) Robertson; six grandchildren, Angie Cluck, Chad Ballard, Jason Robertson, Tiffany Kuhl, Tony Rodriquez and Nathan Griffith; and seven great-grandchildren.</em>

<em>She was a longtime member of Christian Assembly Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was currently a member of the New Heights Fellowship Church for the last years of her life where she was faithful in fixing communion.</em>

<em>Before her marriage, she worked at a shoe factory in Anna. She then moved to Moline and worked for John Deere. As a wife she spent all of her time raising her children and taking care of her husband and home.</em>

<em>Graveside services will be Thursday, today, at 2 p.m., at Ebenezer Hall Cemetery near Lick Creek, IL, with Kenny Merriman officiating.</em>

<em>Memorials can be made to New Heights Fellowship Church in Peoria.</em>
