Anna-Jonesboro Community High School’s Trenton Turner finished in 7th place in the discus throw at the recent Class 2A state track meet at Charleston.
Turner, a senior, who qualified for the finals with an eighth place toss of 151-3, finished in 7th place in the finals with a 153-10 effort.
Noah Franklin, an 8th grader at Cobden Junior High School, recently won the SIJHSAA Class S state high jump championship.
Noah jumped 5’8” to win the title. He narrowly missed on his three attempts at 6’ to break the state record.
Noah becomes the first individual state champion at Cobden.
