Union County Fair horse show to feature champions

The Union County Fair horse show at the fairgrounds in Anna (the Anna City Park) is planned for Saturday, Aug. 20, at 6 p.m.

There will be a total of 21 classes. Blankets will be presented in each class to the winner by the sponsors of the class.

Horse judge Joshua Burchfield of Cordova, Tenn., announcer Steve Eli, and organist Charles Richie, of Memphis, Tenn., will be in attendance.

Also present will be Spring Celebration Specialty Action Men’s Amateur Champion, Missouri State Specialty Action and Stake Champion “The Comeback Kid” and “Pumped Up Kicks.”

The horses are owned and trained by the Meisenheimer family of Jonesboro. Both are undefeated in the arena and have been shown all across the country winning state championships.

They are currently in the running to qualify for the World Championships in September in Decatur, Ala.

The Union County Fair Board of Directors invites and welcomes all participants and spectators to this year’s horse show.
