Peach Festival 5K run/walk, fun run set
The 16th annual Cobden Peach Festival 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run are planned Saturday morning, Aug. 3.
The run/walk and fun run are sponsored by the Cobden Runners’/Walkers’ Club.
The events begin and end on Locust Street near the Cobden Community Park, between old U.S. Route 51 and Appleknocker Drive.
Same-day registration is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m.
The 5K run/walk begins at 7:30 a.m. The 1-mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m.
Awards will be presented for each of the events, including:
5K run: overall male and female.
5K walk: overall male and female.
Top three places awarded in each age group.
Fun run and stroller division participants will receive a participation ribbon.
The walkers category will offer eight age groups for males and females, from 9 and under to 70 and over.
The runners category will offer 16 categories for males and females, from 9 and under to 80 and over.

Fees to participate include: $15 for 5K runners and walkers; $10 for those who do not want a t-shirt.
$3 for fun run for ages 13 and up. The fun run is free for ages 0 to 12.
There is a $30 entry fee cap for families, which includes any variation of mom, dad and kids.
